Tick Tock

Time by Pink Floyd-- one of my most favorite songs...

Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day
Fritter and waste the hours in an offhand way
Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town
Waiting for someone or something to show you the way

Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
And you are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines
Hanging on quiet desperation is the English way
The time is gone, the song is over, thought I'd something more to say

BREATHE REPRISE
Home, home again
I like to be here when I can
And when I come home cold and tired
It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire
Far away across the field
The tolling of the iron bell
Calls the faithful to their knees
To hear the softly spoken magic spells.

Ice Cold Peach Lemonade

It was one of those days where it was really hot and you just need something cold to sustain and chill you...I had made Nora some peach lemonade recently and she really liked it. It sounded good. I was craving it.

4 SERVINGS, OR SO
You'll need:

1 peach
2 lemons
3-4 T. sugar (white or brown)
1/2 c. water
2-3 handfuls of ice cubes

Blender
Lemon squeezer
Mesh strainer
Glasses (the kind you drink out of)
Ice cubes

First you'll want to squeeze the 2 lemons and pour the juice through the strainer to remove the seeds.  You can put the pulp back in with the juice but make sure the seeds are G.O.N.E.  Then, you can put the lemon stuff in the blender with the water. Don't forget the sugar!  You'll want to add it, depending on how sweet you like your beverages. I personally think that adding brown sugar brings out the peach flavor and sweetness and adds a molasses-ee taste. Yum!   Then add your ice cubes and use the ice cube slushifying setting or pulse on your blender.  The consistency should be like a lemon slush...which is exactly what it is.  Before I put my peaches in with the slush, I cubed them.  This is an unnecessary step.  But cubing peaches is just too fun to skip! I'm positive that you agree with me on that one..HAHA.  Blend until smooth, the peach skin will show, but DO NOT FEAR.  I am HERE to tell you that this is OK.  Now, taste your concoction.  Need more sugar to appeal to you taste buds? Add more.  More water? Add water.  My Ingredient list was how I like it. However, I may have added more water.  I cannot remember.
Serve your drinks in tall glasses with the large wet squares we here call ice cubes.  Why large? They won't melt fast.  However, it is best to drink your peach lemonade when you pour it.  No, you do not have to gulp it down in a matter of seconds but it separates and the melted ice, now water, travels to the bottom of the glass leaving a drink parfait.  Negative.

Enjoy!
